Maribyrnong Community Residential Facility Transitional Support Program
The Maribyrnong Community Residential Facility provides temporary accommodation and wraparound support to men leaving prison in Melbourne who would otherwise be homeless – a circumstance experienced by half of Victoria’s prison population, and a factor that can see people return to custody shortly after release.

Place-based approaches (sometimes called ‘community-led’ approaches) are ways of working to address social, economic and ecological disadvantage. They are community-led, strengths-based responses that empower local people to respond to complex, interrelated issues in a local place.

Guidance on climate action and resilience planning for neighbourhood house networks
There are close to 400 neighbourhood houses in Victoria and over a thousand across Australia. In a community emergency, neighbourhood houses are often the first to respond, and they play an essential role in rebuilding communities. Importantly, they also take a preventative approach, building the resilience of communities by addressing the underlying drivers of vulnerability in their every day work.
