There are so many ways to show your support

There are so many ways to give, and we’re so grateful to you for your support. No amount is too small to make a difference in the lives of the people we work with, and in our mission of building a just society, where all people can live to their full potential.

Ways to donate

You can at any time make a one-off donation, or arrange to give regular monthly donations using our secure online donation form.

Please find below further information on how you can support our work. Our Fundraising Team would be happy to hear from you anytime if you would like to discuss donating to Jesuit Social Services.

You can contact our Fundraising on 03 9421 7600 and fundraising@jss.org.au.

Make a bequest

Making a will may be one of the most important things you will do during your lifetime.

A bequest to us is a powerful way to ensure that your values live on into the future. With your help, we can work to fulfil a shared vision of building a just society, where everyone has the opportunity to flourish, reach their full potential and make a meaningful contribution to the community they live in.

Please see our dedicated Bequest page for full information.

Become a Community Partner

We call our regular givers Community Partners. Your ongoing support is a real act of partnership with us as we work together to build a just society.

As a Community Partner, your regular monthly donations will allow us to invest in longer term solutions. We’ll be able to plan our programs with greater certainty knowing that we can channel available funds to action for those who need it most.

Becoming a Community Partner is the most convenient and impactful way of giving.

  • You can decide and plan in advance, and so can we!
  • Your donation dollar goes further as we reduce administration costs.
  • If your circumstances change you can always adjust your regular payment by contacting the fundraising team at fundraising@jss.org.au or 03 9421 7600
  • You can choose to make a regular monthly donation either by credit card, or by direct debit from a bank account.
  • Your donation is processed automatically each month, which makes it easy for you to keep track.
  • We send you a statement at the end of each financial year for tax purposes.

Gifts In Memorium

Donating in memory of a loved one can be a special way of acknowledging their passing and of honouring and celebrating their life. Such an important gift will assist us to plan and implement long-term programs.
An in memoriam gift in the name of your loved one can contribute to our work in accompanying people and communities to foster and regenerate the web of relationships that sustain us all.
We can help you arrange an in memorium gift at any time — for example, you may choose to make a donation each year to commemorate a loved one’s birthday.

Funeral collections

If you are arranging a funeral service you may want to encourage friends and relatives to make an in memorium donation to Jesuit Social Services. We can create a bespoke online In Memorium donation page for you to make donating to Jesuit Social Services as easy as possible. If this is something that you would like to explore, please email fundraising@jss.org.au and we will get back to you promptly.

Gifts in lieu of flowers

If you would like family and friends to give a donation to Jesuit Social Services in lieu of flowers, you may want to include this request in the death notice.
“Donations in lieu of flowers to Jesuit Social Services, PO Box 271, RICHMOND VIC 3121”

Taxation receipts

Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. A thank you letter and receipt will be sent to all donors if they provide us with their name and address.

Join our Workplace Giving program

Join our Workplace Giving program and give pre-tax donations from your pay

What is Workplace Giving?
  • Workplace Giving is a simple and powerful way to help us deliver services to at-risk communities and young people.
  • You choose the amount of your salary you wish to donate and it will be deducted from your pay — giving you an instant tax benefit. Your taxable income is reduced immediately, without the need for donation receipts.
  • Plus, because donations are made pre-tax, it only costs you 52 cents for every dollar you pledge (based on a marginal tax rate of 48.5%). The Australian Taxation Office pays the balance.
  • Workplace Giving offers the opportunity for you to make a regular positive contribution to social justice – just a small amount every pay cycle.
  • Through regular contributions deducted automatically from your salary each pay period, you’ll be part of a valuable community of regular donors. Regular donations help us to plan for the future so we can do even more with your donation.
  • Workplace Giving is a way for employed people to give back to the community knowing that you are helping shape a better world.
How to set up Workplace Giving
  1. Ask your employer to include Jesuit Social Services in their Workplace Giving program
  2. Download the Workplace Giving Authorisation Form (below), fill it out and give it to your payroll manager.
  3. Alternatively, you can choose a payroll giving agency to work with such as Good2give, Benevity, GiveNow.
  4. Your donation (you determine the amount) will be deducted from your salary each pay period.
  5. Let your employer know that you want to give regular donations to Jesuit Social Services. If we’re not already one of your organisation’s charities of choice, please nominate us. We’ll be happy to send all the information they need.
  6. Find out if your company matches employee donations. If your company does not currently match employee donations, you might suggest it consider doing so.
  7. Spread the word and get your workmates involved so together, we can support those most in need and advocate for change where it is needed most.
Benefits for employees
  • It’s easy! You decide how much to give, and it’s automatically deducted with each pay cycle.
  • Workplace Giving donations are deducted from pre-tax salaries, which means that your taxable income is reduced immediately – without the need for receipts.
  • Championing social justice: your regular donation will help us stand in solidarity with those in need, advocate for social change and promote the health and wellbeing of people and communities who are in most need of our support.
Benefits for employers
  • Participating in Workplace Giving is a great way for companies to demonstrate their corporate social responsibility (CSR) by committing to long-term economic and social development of families and communities.
  • This in turn sends positive signals to investors, shareholders, employees and customers.
  • You can monitor the level of charitable giving that your company has helped to achieve.
  • If you match your employee’s donation, your organisation can extend its impact and, in the process, send a strong message to your staff that you are committed to their interests.
