Jesuit Social Services GM Housing and Complex Needs Leanne Ackermann, Settlement Program Coordinator Kara McKay and Homework Club Coordinator Deb Hitchen at the MY Education Awards ceremony

Our Flemington Homework Club has been awarded Most Outstanding Community Run Out of School Hours Learning Support Program at the Centre for Multicultural Youth MY Education awards on Tuesday 16 October. Flemington Homework Club student Ominia Gumma was runner up in the Most Outstanding Primary School Student category.

The MY Education Awards “showcase excellence in the learning support sector and recognise outstanding contributions students, schools and Out-of-School-Hours Learning Support Programs make to the learning and engagement of students from migrant and refugee backgrounds in Victoria”.

General Manager of Housing and Complex Needs, Leanne Acreman, says the awards are “a great recognition of the hard work by our staff and volunteers, who we know help improve outcomes for kids in the Flemington housing estates”.
