Northern Territory Youth Justice Programs
The Back on Track, Youth Justice Group Conferencing and Alice Springs Youth Diversion Program work to divert children and young people in the Northern Territory away from the criminal justice system.Jesuit Social Services has worked in the Northern Territory at the invitation of local communities since 2010, supporting the development of place-based and locally led solutions to issues spanning governance, environment, community development and youth criminal justice.

The Centre for Just Places was established by Jesuit Social Services, with significant seed funding from Gandel Philanthropy and the Victorian Government, to support and enable place-based approaches to social and ecological justice through research, collaboration, engagement and knowledge exchange.

Dropping off the Edge is Jesuit Social Services' landmark research into locational disadvantage, conducted over more than 20 years. Through major reports mapping disadvantage across every community in Australia, released in 2007, 2015 and 2021, Dropping off the Edge shows clearly that complex and entrenched disadvantage is experienced by a small but persistent number of locations in each state and territory across Australia.
