Ignite Cafe

A not-for-profit cafe using hospitality to help people thrive.

Ignite Cafe is a Melbourne social enterprise cafe where people experiencing barriers to work or training can come to build skills and connections. The cafe provides:

Ignite Cafe is about more than coffee: it’s a safe and inclusive space where all people are free to be themselves.

Ready Set Work Cafe Operations – 22476VIC Certificate I in General Education for Adults (Introductory) (Statement of Attainment)

I’ve learnt a lot of great skills here, met a lot of great people. Whether you’re looking into hospitality or you love coffee, I would recommend this course.

Hospitality experience

Through our volunteer program, Ignite Cafe creates pathways to employment as well opportunities for team and community engagement.

We create a safe and welcoming environment where participants, community members and staff alike can thrive. We teach various hospitality skills, including till work, customer service, coffee making, food preparation and basic workplace health and safety. To find out more about our volunteer program, please contact ignitecafecamberwell@jss.org.au.

Ignite is a place where people who may feel disengaged and disconnected from life and community have a chance to recognise themselves as having a place in society, having value.
