Jesuit Community College was launched in May 2011 by the Minister for Higher Education and Skills, the Hon. Peter Hall MLC.
“The State Government is delighted to fund this bold initiative in recognition of the successful and meaningful educational options that Jesuit Social Services provides to ‘hard to reach’ and disadvantaged learners in Victoria,” said Peter Hall, Minister for Higher Education and Skills.
In 2012, Jesuit Community College’s ‘Step Up to Community Work’ program won the Outstanding Pre-accredited Program for Learn Local organisations.
The program has since been used as a used as a case study for other Learn Local providers. ‘Step Up to Community Work’ is one of five example programs chosen for their “innovative strategies, their focus on sustainable pathways and the partnerships they are developing within their communities”.
