COVID-19 – Impact on Jesuit Social Services

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many of the marginalised members of the community with whom we work.

We recognise that the current situation impacts on the health and wellbeing of us all. Our thoughts are with those who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the frontline and emergency personnel performing challenging roles in the name of public health.

Jesuit Social Services has remained open and delivering services throughout the pandemic. In this constantly evolving environment, we have adapted the way we do this, all the while keeping our vision for building a just society front of mind.

Our participants, staff and volunteers remain our priority. Now, more than ever, it is crucial that we stay connected to the people we’re here to serve. In order to do this safely, many of our support services are now being delivered remotely, including those run by Support After Suicide, The Men’s Project, and Artful Dodgers Studios.

In line with current recommendations from the relevant health authorities, staff are working remotely, where possible. These staff members are accessible via e-mail and mobile phone. If you are trying to make direct contact with a particular staff member, contact us on the details above to be transferred.

In situations where staff provide face to face support, social distancing protocols have been put in place to protect the safety of our staff and participants.
