Our accredited course combines practical hands on skills training on a commercial espresso machine with self-paced learning activities in hygienic food practices and workplace health and safety. The course builds skills and confidence for work or further training in the vibrant hospitality industry.

Location: Narre Warren Bowls Club, 1 Magid Drive, Narre Warren 3805
Information & Enrolment Sessions: February 23, 10AM – 12:30PM or 1PM – 3:30PM
Dates: March 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31
Time: 9:45AM – 3:30PM
There are no prerequisites for this course. People with a disability are encouraged to apply.
Course Content
You will learn about:
- Operating a commercial espresso machine and coffee grinder
- Making a range of different coffees and beverages to industry standards
- Customer service and customer relations
- Using hygienic and safe food practices
- Tailoring your resume to apply for hospitality jobs
- Workplace communication and workplace health and safety
- Employer expectations and employee responsibilities and rights
- Time management and personal organisation
- Problem solving and taking instructions
- Presentation and personal hygiene
Course outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course you gain:
- SITHFAB005 Prepare and serve espresso coffee
- SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety
