Get ready for the return of the popular cafe scene!

Our accredited course combines practical hands on skills training on a commercial espresso machine with online learning activities in hygienic food practices and workplace health and safety. The course builds skills and confidence for work or further training in the vibrant hospitality industry.

Course Details:
6 days face-to-face + 8 days online (via Zoom)
Brosnan Centre, 54 McCrae Street, Dandenong 3175
Information & Enrolment Sessions: Nov 16, 10AM – 12:30PM or 1PM – 3:30PM (via Zoom)
Dates: Face-to-face: Nov 17, 24, 25, Dec 2, 9, 16; Online: Nov 18, 23, 30, Dec 1, 7, 8, 14, 15
Time: 9:45AM – 3:30PM

Online training will be delivered via ZOOM, the free online video platform. You’ll require internet access, a computer, tablet, or smart device with audio and video functions.

There are no prerequisites for this course. People with a disability are encouraged to apply.

Course Content

You will learn about:

  • Operating a commercial espresso machine and coffee grinder
  • Making a range of different coffees and beverages to industry standards
  • Customer service and customer relations
  • Using hygienic and safe food practices
  • Tailoring your resume to apply for hospitality jobs
  • Workplace communication and workplace health and safety
  • Employer expectations and employee responsibilities and rights
  • Time management and personal organisation
  • Problem solving and taking instructions
  • Presentation and personal hygiene

Course outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course you gain:
